All of the tattoos seen here besides the rotten flesh background/filler stuff were pre-existing. The client's idea was to try to make his arm look like it was rotten, and to have it be a trompe l'oeil 'fool the eye' effect by tattooing this rotting effect over parts of the existing tattoo work, thus making the rotting look more believable. In other words, loads of high-concept and textural fun, and 2-3 layers of pigment.
