I was just wondering if any out there has heard of this before. I just got turned down from a rather well known shop in New Haven that a friend recommended to me. The piercer said that the vein in the middle of my tongue, that runs parralel to the two arteries on either side, extends too far down my tongue and she didnt want to pierce the vein.

First of all, wouldnt it be possible to just go from the bottom up so as not to hit the vein? and even it was hit, since its not an artery there's no real serious risk, right?

I seriously bummed out about this as I have been wanting to get my tongue pierced for a while now, since, as much as I love it, I honestly dont feel like any other piercing or body art suits me personally. If it really is too risky maybe there's an alternative??
